Reprehensible Posing as Responsible: Bad breeders in our backyard

I am deeply concerned and disturbed by the recent encounter I had with an ex-breeding female dog purchased from a breeder that boasts a supposed impeccable reputation. This particular breeder has been in operation for much longer than myself, yet chose to breed the dog at a mere 8 months of age.

There is nothing cute about puppies having puppies; This is the equivalent of making a 10-year-old child carry a pregnancy to term. Breeding a dog at such a young age is not only irresponsible but also demonstrates a lack of care and respect for the animal's physical and emotional needs. The consequences of early breeding and the continuation of over-breeding has led to excruciating medical complications that will plague this ex-breeding girl for the rest of her life.

It is outrageous and reprehensible that any breeder would engage in such unethical practices while repeatedly claiming to prioritise the health and welfare of their animals. Regrettably, the animal industry is inadequately regulated, and the breeder in question has not violated any current state laws in South Australia that I am aware of by engaging in such practices. Additionally, every puppy I have encountered from this facility has exhibited enduring anxiety - typically attributable to genetics or inadequate socialisation.

If what I have observed is accurate, this breeder's actions are not just unethical but also demonstrate a complete disregard for the well-being of their dogs. It is clear that they are motivated by greed and profit rather than a genuine love and concern for the dogs that rely on them.

Greed is a powerful motivator, and it seems that breeders like these are more interested in making a quick profit than in ensuring the health and happiness of the animals in their care.

Although I am unable to disclose the name of this fraudulent, misleading and unethical breeder due to legal reasons, I urge those seeking to purchase a puppy from a large-scale breeder to proceed with caution and rely on their instincts. Longevity doesn't necessarily equate to competence. If you're unsure about where to find ethical breeders, you can check out RightPaw. This platform has a Code of Ethics, that breeders must comply with to be listed on the platform. Furthermore, RightPaw conducts remote inspections of breeders' facilities and verifies their health tests to ensure that they meet ethical breeding standards.
